Can anyone tell me why this statement will not work?

I am in Sheet2 trying to get a value from Sheet1

=if(Sheet1!(MID(C3,3,1) = "H",1,0)

If the 3rd value in cell C3 ( Sheet1) = "H" I want a 1 otherwise a 0

Thanks

Marty

Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
Almost, you just had the sheet reference in the wrong place:

=IF(MID(Sheet1!C3,3,1)="H",1,0)
