I was wondering if there is a way to modify data in Pivot Table?

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
Er - yes and no.

Perhpas you could describe what you need in a little more detail?

Hmm..I am actually trying to do financial reporting in Excel and the problem is that each time I refresh it REPLACES the modifications I have made in the data and the fields.
I was wondering if there is a way so that when I refresh it, it doesn't replaces it?

Well if you are modifyiing the actual data (as in the contents of the data) a refresh would REPLACE that data with new data or the source data for the table.

You can create new fields from existing ones by either grouping or using calculated fields (which will remain on a refresh)

You can also go to the pivot table options and click the boxes for retaining formatting
