monitoring sheet changes

I have built a P&L monitoring sheet for our entire firm. I want to monitor the P&L cells and email out alerts when those numbers hit a specific target. How do I monitor those cells for the "Event", ie a P&L above or below a certain threshold so I can call the email routine.

If the cells contain formulas you could use the Worksheet_Calculate event.

Well the problem with that is there are over 100 cells i'm monitoring and most of them change literally every second. so that event will trigger tens of thousands of times a day
