Month Formulas?

Hi everyone,

Wasn't sure how to put the title of this topic but basically i have the following data:

DATE
VALUE
VALUE
VALUE

And that continues for many columns. Each date is the 1st of the month starting at 01/07/2011 and going back to 01/01/2006.

I know how to use vlookup but i only want to show the data from the beginning of the month 1-6 months ago, 12 months ago, 18 months ago, 24 months ago, 32 months ago and so on.

I need a formula which basically gives me the date at the beginning of the month last month, 2 months ago, 3 months ago, 4 months ago, etc etc

Is this possible?
