more than three conditional formats

I know I can up to three conditional formats in a cell.


e.g. 1=red, 2=yellow, 3=green.

If I have a default format this raises it to four,e.g. 4=(default) blue.

But I need five different formats for a single cell.

e.g. 1=red, 2=yellow, 3=green, 4=blue, 5=orange.

any ideas for a workaround?

Why don't you use a macro rather? You don't have any limits then.
