i have an old database which i have emptied and want to use again. the primary keys have an auto value. when new data is put in, the id number(an auto value) starts at the last used record number(even tho it has been deleted) instead of at 1. can this be reset?

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
The easiest way to 'reset' the AutoID field is to delete it (in Design view) and then re-add the column. If you make sure the data is sorted Ascending by the AutoID field before deleting it, then the data will stay in the same consecutive order but from 1 rather than 2047 or whatever...
Hope that helps.
