I have a pivot table and a data source in a workbook. When I make a copy of the workbook, the data source links to the original workbook.

I would like the data source to stay with the workbook.... this has just happend and wasn't a problem before. Problem with a setting somewhere?

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK

I haven't seen that problem with PivotTables.

Prior to copying your workbook, if you look at the DataSource...
PT Ribbon > Options > Change Data Source

what does it list as the current data source?

it refers to the datasource within that workbook.... when I save it as another workbook it still links to the original.

I have other tables that I can copy right now with no issues, and knd find anywhere where theres a setting difference.
