MS Word macro question

Or not as the case may be! Sorry!

I'm fairly good with Excel macros these days, as well as many other Excel elements (although being currently out of work means I am not polishing my skills.... :( ). Word, on the other hand, has always been something I've avoided delving into, so wondering if someone may be able to help

I help to run a single marque car forum, of which I am webmaster, using phpBB. We've got our inaugural meeting on Sunday and I've been tasked with creating cards to put into each car's window, with the forum logo, a few descriptive words, and a car number (as in 1 to 150 rather than vehicle registration). I've created this using Word and have eight per side of A4, having used two text boxes (one for the logo and one for the wording) grouped together, and then copied and pasted.

At present, the number area just says "Car Number", but I'd like to be able to somehow append a number after these words, to save typing in 1, followed by 2, followed by.... you get the picture! I think I could do this in Excel, although I'd have to dig out some old files to remind myself how, but don't know where to begin in Word. Is it possible?

I've tried creating this using labels, which might work, if I had a printer! What I'm looking to do is create the Word file with all pages and numbers in place, prior to someone else printing them out!

If it's not possible, fair enough. It might even be quicker to do it by hand, but then, where's the challenge in that?!

Any pointers appreciated!

Cheers!

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Hi Dave,

From a maintencance and consistency perspective, you'd probably do better to use a table rather than textboxes. As for the numbering, you could use a SEQ field in each textbox/table cell. Indeed, if you have your basic data in an Excel workbook, with a table you could use a label mailmerge to personalise each label. Insead of the SEQ field, you'd use a MERGEREC or MERGESEQ field for the numbering. In either case, no code is required.

Thanks for this Paul!

To get the job done, I numbered manually, but will still have a go using what you suggest - you know how it is, even if it's no longer needed, it's the principle of trying to find a way to make something work, even if you spend longer doing it that way!
