I have a table of data named 'data_sales'. In the data, is a column of product codes for example HMS001, HMS002 etc. Each item is used for multiple entries as each has a date (column 2) and quantity of volume ordered (column 3).

I would like to set up a table to show the product listed in column a, along with the dates across row 1.

I can use a vlookup that will return a value against a code:

=VLOOKUP(A3,Data_Sales,3,FALSE)

But it is not corrosponding to the dates, I assume I need an extra lookup to incorpaorate the second part of the equation?

Can anybody help??

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
sounds like a pivot table might solve your needs. if you are unfamiliar with them, access the tutorials on this site or go to youtube and search on pivot table.
