I am looking to have various cells background output either Red, Green, Yellow, Grey, or White dependent upon their value. I am looking to have a dynamic key that adjusts the conditional formatting on a worksheet. How can I do this?

Thanks!

If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
What do you mean with "dynamic key that adjusts the conditional formatting on a worksheet"?
For Excel 2003, you will need VBA code as conditional formatting did not support so many formats.

Yeah... That's where I'm having problems. Used to Excel 2010, but am doing a project for a guy that only has 2003.

I'd love to have 5 cells where you can adjust the conditions for the formatting...

One cell will be for red and will say ">-.5" another will be for yellow and will have between x and y...

Thanks a ton for your help!

You're welcome, hope you can adapt the code to your needs.

Wow, I just really don't understand that. Here's a sample picture / GoogleSheets sample of how it is supposed to look. I have it saved on a file, which I'm sure would be a lot easier. Do you think you could help a bit more?

Thanks so much for your help Wigi. Seriously. I think you actually helped me with something last summer, which was a big hit at the office. Really saved a ton of time -- much appreciated.
