I have sheet with a range, lets say a1:a10 that have serial numbers of items. I'm not to sure how to get this up and running but I would like the individual cell font to go to Red and Bold for both cells if they happen to house the same serial numbers.
Thaks in advance.

Save Often
If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
Use conditonal formatting (in the format menu):

The criteria should be:
"Formula is" =COUNTIF($A$1:$A$10,$A1)>1

and the format will be bold and red (click on the button and select)
