I have a form that uses check boxes to trigger the formula for the reimbursement amount. There are two categories for reimbursement up to $40 max and up to $80 max. C7 is the cell the shows the total bill to be expensed.

((If box one is checked ($40 max), and if (C7>40,then 40,if not C7). or (if box 2 is selected ($80 max), if (C7>80,then 80,if not C7))

I linked cells F8 and F9 to be True or False. If check box one is selected, then TRUE if not false. If check box 2 is selected, then TRUE, if not false.

I was thinking something like this, using the "if" and the "and" statements - but obviously it does not work. if(and(F8="True",C7>40.00),40.00,C7),if(and(f9="true",C7>80.00),80.00,c7))

any help would be appreciated including a VBA code.

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
You don't actually need the =TRUE part at all.

=if(and(F8,C7>40),40,if(and(f9,C7>80),80,c7))
