Hello.

Is creating a 7 layer donut chart possible? What I am hoping to do is display the project's total completion as a percentage on the outermost ring. This is 50.1% shown below. The 6 rings moving towards the center depict the % complete of each component of the project. This is the 8.350% shown below. The table below is an example of the chart I have set up. The 50% is how much of that component is completed. As I change the 50% to reflect progress towards completing the component, the component and Total Completion's rings change accordingly. If this is a possibility, I would appreciate help. I think my presentation will look great if this is doable. I have many other tables of various layers I would like to use this for as well. I assume a copy/paste with slight modifications will be able to accomodate any chart.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
You want seven rings? You even sure you want a donut?

So anyway, for a donut, you would need to have % Complete and % Incomplete for each task, like the data below.

Select the data, insert a donut chart (top left). It's using the data wrong, so switch rows and columns (top right). It still doesn't look very good, but with a little formatting (donut hole size, add data labels to the "Done" point of each ring, etc.) and it isn't too terrible (bottom left). But the labels are hard to read. Wouldn't a bar chart (bottom right) show it all best of all? It's not as fancy as a donut, but by their very nature, donut charts aren't very effective, especially with multiple rings.
