Multiple Users, One Excel Sheet

Hey All,

I am looking to have an excel sheet that many users will have access too.
Is there anyway to lock information on the sheet after each person has put in their own data?

I know you can lock cells and then protect the sheet, but by doing this, those that enter information after the first can't re-lock the sheet.

So in summary. About 50 people will have access to the sheet and each will have to type information into one row. I want each person to be able to lock their own row after they have entered in the info. I don't want other people to be able to edit info that isn't their own so locking each row separately is vital.

Thanks.

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
  1. If you are running Microsoft Office Excel 2007, click Allow Users to Edit Ranges on the Review menu in the Changes group.
  2. In the Allow Users to Edit Ranges dialog box, click New.
  3. In the New Range dialog box, click the Collapse Dialog button. Select the range B2:B6, and then click the Collapse Dialog button again.
  4. In the Range password box, type rangeone, then type it again in the Confirm Password dialog box, and then click OK.
  5. Repeat steps 3 through 5, selecting the range D2:D6 and typing rangetwo as the password for that range.
  6. In the Allow Users to Edit Ranges dialog box, click Protect sheet. In the Password to unprotect sheet box, type ranger, and then click OK two times. When prompted, retype the password.
  7. Select cell B3, and then start to type Dataone.

Notice that as soon as you type D, the Unlock Range dialog box appears.
  8. Type rangeone in the Enter the password to change this cell box, and then press ENTER

I'm assuming you are talking about something like this. Then just give the people a password for their cells.

  3. In the New Range dialog box, click the Collapse Dialog button. Select the range B2:B6, and then click the Collapse Dialog button again.

As soon as they save their input and close it out for the next person, the cells are auto-password protected again, no need to re-lock them.
