my excel 2010 freezes up when working on it.

when working using my excel 2010 window 7. it has started freezing up. I started task manager and when open file need to work on observing the processes excel.exe *32 starts out at 190,000 k and everytime you choose a cell or different tab the memory increases and when you get to around 209,000 k it then locks up. This file was create in excel 200. can anyone help me? i was going to post a snipping of what the screen looked like but i don't know how to post.

no the workbook is a sales book that has multiple sheets mondays, monday sales graph, tuesdays, etc... when you choose sunday sales it looks fine then when you go to work on sunday sales the sheet locks up and then another copy of the sheet lays over the other sheet and watching task manager the memory jumps up and then your done.
