My form is not populating my data sheet...?

I am new to Access. I am using several published manuals to learn how to make a database for a survey, but I have still found myself stumped on a few fairly simple things...

I liked the idea of making a form to make data entry easier, although when I enter data in my Access form it not does automatically appear in my data table. I created the form using the form wizard, and I assumed that it would automatically relate my data table and form.

Am I missing the point, or what is going wrong here?

Thanks for your help in advance!

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
Welcome to the Board!

Is your underlying table set up as the Control Source for your Form?
If so, just bring up the Existing Fields box, and click and drag the fields to your Form. Then those fields on your Form will be automatically linked to the Table fields. If you add Unbound Text Boxes, you need to manually update the Text Box property to link to the field you want it to map to.

Actually, one of the easiest ways is to open your table, and click Create Form. Access will automatically create a Form with all the fields on it. You can then edit it however you like.

Thanks for the response!

I tried to make the form using the form tool, but I seem to be having the same problem.

How do I make sure my underlying table is set up as the control source?

I haven't added any text boxes, since for my form every entry will correspond to a field that I have already created on the data table. I might want to do some editing later on to make it look a little prettier, but it should be working right...?

Which version of Access are you using? That would help us tell what instructions to give you for using the Wizards.

A way to do it in Access 2010 is to select your table or query and then go to the CREATE TAB and then under MORE FORMS select DATASHEET. It should create a datasheet form for you with all of the fields bound to the table or query.
