My question is simple. Can I use an Excel Database function to access a SQL Database?

So for instance, if I want the average sales order from a column in a SQL table, could I use DAVERAGE to render the number in a cell?

If not, what is my workaround to render that number in a cell upon a calc refresh of excel?

Thx in advance.

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
Simple answer : ALT-D-D-N and follow the wizard

Please refer Excel help for : external data query. And google too. Details will be version dependent

There are various approaches depending on what you want to do. Parameterised queries are good - can auto-refresh on changing a parameter cell. There are options to auto-refresh every n minutes. Also on file open. With VBA more control/customisation is possible.

With VBA there are alternative approaches too. Such as ADO
