#NAME? Error

Hi,

I have the following as part of a larger nested IF statement:

IF(AND(GU31='Drop Downs'!E5,OR(GZ31=A2,NOT(LEN(SUBSTITUTE(GZ31," ",""))=11),NOT(ISNUMBER(SUBSTITUTE(GZ31," ","")+0)))),A8&" - "&GZ27&" - MUST BE 11 DIGITS",

Where:
GU31='Drop Downs'!E5 -> GU31="Yes"
GZ31=A2 -> GZ31="No Input"

GZ31 can be either A2 or a Number... when seperated from the nested IF as above the formula works perfectly... but when added to the Nested If statement it returns #NAME?

Is there a solution?

Chris...

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.

I would suggest posting the formula that Does Not work, not a part of it that does...

Johno,

Thank you... I did an Error Check and the ERROR kept pointing at that particular line of the equation so I kept referring to it again and again... When I started to break down the equation line by line without using Error checking I found the bracket missing error.

Thank you

Chris...
