Hello,

Here is my situation. I need to name a cell one name for my client to see (example: Direct) but I need it to be a different name when I export it as a CSV file (example: phone1). Is there a way to label a cell one thing but have the data to be another?

Thank you.

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.

Hi,
I think not. When you say name/label a cell what exactly do you mean?

A. Do you mean:
1) a column header
2) a label in the cell to the left of the data
3) something else?

B. What is the reason for this? Do you have to save this file frequently? Every day? Once a week?

Regards, AB

Thank you for your reply and help,

I have this form for my clients to fill out that I will eventually export as a csv file. Then I have to alter the headings to match the fields I use in my web to print web app. My original idea was to find a way to label the headings so that my client could understand it clearly but have the actually heading to be what I needed for data merge and my web to print app (I cannot change the web app field naming). I have abandoned this idea in favor of a spread sheet that has two worksheets one for my client to enter in data which in turn is reflected to another worksheet that has the proper headings for my data merge and web to print app. If you know of a better way please let me know I am open to all suggestions.

Thank You

Welcome to the board..
You could put the REAL Header in Row 1, HIDE Row 1, and put the FAKE header in Row 2.

Hope that helps..
