I want to name cells within a table by its row and column heading

For instance if row headings are months(Jan, Feb, Mar...) and column headings are years (2001, 2002, 2003...)...i want each cell within this table to be named

Jan2001
Feb2001
Mar2001...

any ideas on how i can do this...is there on option in "insert - name (define/create)"

"I want to name cells within a table by its row and column heading"

1) why, and
2) have you investgated the "accept labels in formulas" option (tools | options | calculation)
3) review the help file for "About labels and names in formulas"

Here's a bit of code if you want to anyway:

ColHeadRow = 1 'Row that contains the column headers
RowHeadCol = 1 'Column that contains the row headers
Set Rng = Sheet1.Range("A2:G13") 'Range that you want to name

For Each c In Rng
c.Name = Cells(c.Row, RowHeadCol) & Cells(ColHeadRow, c.Column)
