Need Formula to replace Pivot Table

Hello Excel Users

I have an excel sheet that has (9) Columns and about 100 rows and the data changes daily.

=COUNTIF(F3:F231,"Dog") = 72
=COUNTIF(D4:D232,"Cat") = 89
=COUNTIF(I5:I233,"Bird") = 27


Dog = 72
Dog & Cat = 21
Dog & Cat & Bird = 7

A pivot table returns the value of (7) for the above criteria. I'm looking for a formula that will do the same thing. Any thoughts?

What version of Excel are you using?

I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

Also can you post some sample data, along with expected outcome.

Note that there is also a "Test Here” forum on this board. This is a place where you can test using this tool (or any other posting techniques that you want to test) before trying to use those tools in your actual posts.

Do you mean:

=COUNTIFS(F3:F231,"Dog",D3:D231,"Cat",I3:I231,"Bird")

? I assumed the ranges should use the same rows for each.
