Hi:
I've prepared a list of books to take to a festival and then need to make up labels for each book. I can create the labels from a mail merge, but the issue I'm facing is there are different quantities for each book and ideally I need a unique row for the number that particular number of books I'm bringing. For example. In row 2 column C, I now have that I'm taking 7 copies of the Buddhist Guide to Poetry. In row 3 column C, I have indicated I'm taking 5 copies of the Buddhist Guide to Meditation. Ideally, I'd take that information and use it to create the appropriate number of rows for each book so the proper number of labels will be made (so for example, there would be 7 rows with the information for the Buddhist Guide to Poetry and 5 rows for the Buddhist Guide to Meditation). There may be a way to do it via mail merge, but I'm not sure how to do that either.

There are 550 books on the list [2100+ in total], so doing it by hand would be tedious.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,
Marshall G

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
I think the only way to handle this is to use a macro. You can write code that cycles through each book title and generates appropriate number of rows into another table.

thanks. That makes sense, but alas, I don't know how to write a macro. Is that something I could hire someone on Mr Excel to do quickly--as in very quickly given I need to get this done shortly?
