Hello all and thank you for taking the time to read this. I'm a complete newbie to Excel and after searching Google I still can't find the answer to what I'm wanting to do (perhaps I'm just using the wrong search string). I have an Excel sheet that I'm wanting to use to fill out data for other sheets within the same document. This main data will populate several other sheets that contain templates the user can then just copy and paste into other programs. I'm using Excel 2010. I have the formulas working already on a few sheets just fine, however there are a few sheets it uses the core data to populate a longer paragraph that I'm getting the error "Text values in formulas are limited to 255 characters. To create text values longer than 255 characters in a formula, use the CONCATENATE function or the concatenation operator (&)"For example:

"Main" Sheet
Store Number:123
Location:321 Main Street
Phone:555-7839
Date:5/23/15
Your Name:John Doe

<tbody>
</tbody>

="All,

At 5:00 PM PST on "&Main!$B$5&" we will be doing maintenance on the network for store number "&Main!$B$2&" located at "&Main!$B$3&". During this time you will be unable to access any network related items such as shared files or the internet. You will still have access to any files stored locally on your computer as well as any printers connected directly to your computer. Please be sure to save and close any shared files you are working on before leaving for the day or before 5:00 PM PST. We will follow up with you once maintenance is complete and verify that you are able to access network services again. If you need to reach us at any time during this process please call "&Main!$B$6&" at "&Main!$B$4&"."

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
That formula has a length of 719 characters. If you store the part below in an out-of-the-way cell you can then include that cell address in your concatenation.

One more quick question if you're still around. Some of the sheets contain command lines so that they can be copied and pasted once they have been populated via the main sheet. Any line that is copied from a cell in Excel has two blank enter/line spaces under the paste that isn't within the cell itself. How can this be removed?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Are you pasting data into Excel that is copied from an external application/source? If you enter data manually in a cell, there will not be any spaces other than the ones you manually enter. Can you post a few examples of your data? That would allow us to try determining the type of extraneous character(s) you want to remove.
