Hi,

1. can we assume that the amps will not vary from 125? Am I reading this correctly?
2. is 18,16,14 the wire size (1st column in main table)? or is the wire size in the body of your table?
3. are the wire types in the top rows?
4. is this to do with MIG wire and welding?

The amps will change. I am an Electrical student. If you look in the NEC2011 code book. Table 310.15b16. wire type are the top row. What I am looking for is something that will search wire types, go down to the amps (what ever they are under that wire type and then go back to the wire size column and pick the correct size. Also the 1/ot-4/ot in the code book reads this way 1/0,2/0,3/0,4/0 but when I put it in it comes as a date

So what you want is an input box where you can put in the 'amps' and 'wire type' and it will reference automatically the correct size? Yes/No
Can you write VBA code??

Is the column AWG/KCMIL a wire type or the wire size?
What does the 125amps represent (top left of your table)?? Are there multiple tables for each amp setting?? Or are the amp settings from 14-195 (as per the body of your table)??

You are correct. No I have no idea what vba code is. the AWG/KCMIL column is the wire size. 18- 4/0 would be worded as 18awg,16awg. The 250-2000 is kcmil 250kcmil. the 125amp is the maximum current that wire size is designed to take. The type in the wire type is actually the rating of the insulation. If you see there are 3 different degree columns 60deg.' 75deg, and 90deg. The currents each wire can take changes with the insulation type.
So if you look at #14awg in the 60° column it can take upto 15amps were as in the 90° column it can take upto 25amps.
