At the moment, I am working on a formula to look up "Duty Rates" based on a couple of things.
1. Customer - Certain customers have their stock re-exported upon entry, so their duty is always 0%
2. Style Number - Certain styles have less/more duty, despite their garment (name) type.
3. Garment type - Certain types of garments have different duty rates.
Maybe because I've been working on this sheet all morning I'm overcomplicating things, so I was hoping someone could help me simplify the formula so I can use it. Or at least explain ISNA to me.
I started with nested IF formulas, because we were content to just manually enter the duty rate if the style number/garment type caused it to be different. However, this means that anyone can forget to change it, and it's a hassle.
So, I made the different sheets for Customer, Style Number, Garment Type, and was doing VLOOKUP. But then I could only do one VLOOKUP (or so I thought at the time).
Now, I have thought of doing ISNA.. but I can't seem to type up the formula properly.
I presume it should look something like:
=IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(CUSTOMER),IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(STYLE NUMBER),VLOOKUP(GARMENT TYPE)..
then I finish off all the ISNA formulas?
But to finish them, I read somewhere that you have to enter the formulas all over again, leaving me with 9 formulas, which is too many.
Sorry, I'm pretty new to formulas, so I'm not really sure what to do.
