This could be a novice question, but I am looking to Find/Replace all in a column where there are multiple rows of data. A standard F/R will find okay, but entirely replace the other data I need to remain in the cell. Example below.

Find: 10423402039

Replace only the match with: 10423402060

Before cell result:
10116000914
10423402040
10423402039
10116000914

Needed after cell result:
10116000914
10423402040
10423402060
10116000914

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
Select the range first where you want to find and replace

Replace will apply on selected cell only . if you do not select range ,Replace will apply on the whole sheet.
Check on Match on entire cell content

It should only replace the search value, not the entire cell content. Are you including any wild cards with the search value?

Correct, I don't want to replace the entire cell content, only the search value. I am not including any wildcard.

Check on Match on entire cell content
Checking match entire cell content yields no results since it's not an exact match in this case.

In that case it should work quite happily.

I've no idea why that is, as it should just replace the value you searched for.

Turns out to be user error... The original data was displayed as a single line of data, but once the F/R happened, the appearance/view changed to one string per line within the cell. I just didn't change the row height or look closely at the formula bar.

Solution
Glad you sorted it & thanks for the feedback.
It would appear that the replace is automatically turning "Wrap Text" on.
