Hi all,

How can i add following formula in dropdown validation
=IF(ISBLANK(C4),"N","Y")

Excel Facts

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
There may be another way but I know this way works:

- Enter an N in a cell, and a Y in another cell
- Create a named range with your formula, but reference cells instead of listing the "N" and "Y" as constants.
- Reference this named range in your validation. for example: =MyRangeName

A drop down list needs to contain more than one value. Your formula results in either N (if C4 is blank) or Y (if C4 is not blank). Why not just have the formula in the cell?
