Hi -

I have a graph with columns. The x axis is in time, and I chose months as the major unit. I would like to display the units in quarters. When I go to format axis the options for the major unit are days, months and years.

I can choose months and then put 3 in the ticker, and I am closer to what I would like, but is there any way to show "Q1", Q2, etc. And moreover, when I have months, it points out to the beginning of the period (which is normal), if it was quarters, could it cover the range of 3 months, so the graph looks smooth?

Any advice on this? Many thanks!
Steve

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
You could try adding a "Quarter" dimension to your source data. Since you already have data at the monthly level this should be fairly easy.

Q1 = SUM(Jan, Feb, Mar) etc...
