Oddball question of the day.

I have a list of 21,000 VINS that were imported. I have another list of vins that were shipped. In a perfect world, these are identical lists. In my world, they aren't. So I called one list IMPORTED, and then did a COUNTIF(IMPORTED, A1) in the column next to my SHIPPED vins . . .I would love to see a 1 in all cells, but I don't. I see some 0's (my problem to find), but why would I get a -1?????
How can COUNTIF return a NEGATIVE 1???

Thanks

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
Is that your entire formula, or is there more to it?

Would you be able to provide some sample data, as well as what you are currently using and your desired outcome?
