I have for columns and am trying to create a formula that will place "X" in the first column if:

2nd column is greater than 11 and the third column is greater than 85(regardless of the value in the fourth column), or the 2nd column is greater than 11 and the forth column is less than 1.5 (regardless of the value in the third column)

Is this possible? I would be very grateful for help.

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.

Assuming values in B2:D2 try this formula in A2

=IF(AND(B2>11,OR(C2>85,D2<1.5)),"X","")

Barry, many thanks.

I thought I had tried that when I saw your post, but clearly hadn't!

I am most grateful.
