Every time I open an existin document in Excel 2007 it also opens a blank New Workbook. Is there somewhere that I can turn this option off? It's very annoying.
Check in there and if there is anything other than Personal.xlsm or Personal.xlsb then get rid of it and try opening Excel again.
I was playing with macros and the macro saved a file to the same folder as the macro workbook which was XlStart.
HTH
there's nothing in the XLSTART file.
I misspoke earlier. It actually opens a BOOK1 with each document that I open. I don't know if this is any different than an new workbook, but I want to be accurate.
Scroll down to the bottom of the in the General section it says "At Startup, open all files in:" and there is a box for a folder address, ensure it is blank
