New instance

I have a spreadsheet that when running it has a timer.
Whenever that is running and I open another sheet and editing formula or trying to macro it creates problems every second when the timer ticks over.
If I create a new instance then open stuff do all the new files I open go into the second instance?




I have vba open some workbooks by selecting a cell that contains a hyperlink

How do I get it to open a new instance if timer is running on one of my sheets? But not if it's not?


Im guessing i add this code and merge my open hyperlink code somewhere in where objXL.Workbooks.Add is?

Then some sort of if statement looking to see if Sub ExcelStopWatch () is running?

Sub New_Instance_of_Excel()

    Dim objXL

    Set objXL = CreateObject("Excel.Application")

    objXL.Visible = True

    objXL.Workbooks.Add

End Sub

bump.
cant seem to open excel in new instance. using a hyperlink.
I cant not use a hyperlink as the hyperlink will let any of the pcs open the file. but if I direct link it then it will only work on one pc as the usernames are different hence its a different file path.
