hello

ok here we go

im stuck on something heres what it is

ive got a data screen with
names ,
addresses,
tel,
customer ID,
and credit limit.

ive made a list using the Data --> Validation on another screen called the input screen.
but i want it so that when the name is clicked then the address, tell, ect automatically come in another cell

if not just the address by it self in another cell

sorry but i dont no if this is done before and i need it realli quick
i just feel like im banging my head on the wall  lol

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
Howdy, and welcome to the board eh. You probably need a simple vlookup() eh:

From the help file:

VLOOKUP(lookup_value,table_array,col_index_num,range_lookup)

=vlookup(drop down cell, table to look at, column offset to grab (to the right, 0 (exact match on unsorted data))

Bon chance. :)

That's 2.

1) Yes, but under what circumstances? You could use an if statement or conditional formatting...

2) Sure, protect the worksheet, make sure the cell's locked property is set to true under the format menu before protecting the sheet.

I don't see Nate around so...

Go to Format/Cells/Protection tab, tick locked/hidden, then go to Tools/Protection and protect the worksheet with or without a password.

Edit,

Oops sorry Nate....

Thanks to Nate0 and Brian from Maui
i tried the locking of the cell and that worked :)

but is there another way with out the password protection to just hide the formula or something or is this the only way? :)

Well, a named range I suppose. You'd see something, but your intent would be opaque. :)
