Hello World,

I cannot remember how/if I can ALWAYS exclude blank results from my pivot table.

I'm hoping i don't need to use a macro, it should be in the settings for the pivot table, I hope...

I use Excel2007.

Many thanks,

Bruce

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
Yes... you can certainly add filters to elimnate all (blanks) from your pivot table.

So, if the pivot table is a way of summarizing data, you have to ask your self do you want to apply the filter to the source data, or do you want to apply the filter to the aggregate (result) information. Are the blanks in yoru labels or in your values?

If it's a value and you want to filter at the source data, use the top level filter by dragging your value field in the 'filter' box when setting up the pivot table. Then set the filter on that value to include everything but blanks.

if you want to filter the aggregate value, then right click on the lowest level label in your pivot table, select filter, and then filter by value. Set the filter to 'doesn't equal' 0.

if you want to filter labels, do the same thing as aggregate value but then select lables instead of values. check everythihng except the blanks.

hope this helps,
gl

1 star? I'm sorry my reply was "Terrible" in your opinion. I'd generally like to be helpful. Is there something in particular in my answer that needs improvement?
