non standard grid pattern replaced default grid lines

a non standard grid pattern now appears on all my excel files and all new files that I open. I have tried all the fixes I could find. I even reinstalled office. Any ideas of what happened and how to fix it. The only thing I can think of is that I opened some excel accounting reports created by quickbooks

I did not know about personal workbook and now I do. thanks. That was not the source of the problem. I opened all excel files I have used in the last week and did not find any related code.
