hello all, just stumbled across these forums no longer than an hour ago. I have no doubt my questions have been asked before, and I apologise for that, but I have no idea at all how to search for them.
I'm not looking to have my hand held, pretty confident if I can get into the right family of formulas I'll be good to go, just not sure where to start.
My friend has collected a lot of data on the local Rugby League competition. We're trying to draw from in it pretty predictable ways.
So here's a cap of the main data page:
Now my first very basic task is to find lots of averages based on different variables. I have no idea how to factor in the variables however. So if I wanted to determine stats like Brisbane's average score, Brisbane's average score when playing at home, and the average score conceded by Brisbane when playing away from home in wet conditions, what types of functions should I look into to work out how to do that?
Secondary question: if I want to average all the values of a column, keeping in mind that the column will continue to grow as data is added, how do I select a range of, say, A2:A(infinity)? That must be really straightforward...
Anyhow, thankyou to anyone who can help me out
