Not enough memory error

I get a not enough memory error when loading a file which links to other files using HLOOKUP and MATCH formulas.
The cells containing the links end up with #NA in them until I open the linked files.

I also get a not enough memory error when I try and save said file. After clicking OK I get a message 'Unable to save external link values'.

Having said this everything does seem to work as I expect, its just a bit disconcerting and inconvenient for other users.

Any ideas what is happening and how to stop it would be gratefully received.

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.

Thanks for the links. I am now working on the theory that I have too many links. My lookup formula is

=HLOOKUP('N:\CONSUMABLE LISTS\Downloaded Files\[StockLevel.xls]StockLevel'!$H$1,'N:\CONSUMABLE LISTS\Downloaded Files\[StockLevel.xls]StockLevel'!$H:$H,MATCH("STQ"&$B6,'N:\CONSUMABLE LISTS\Downloaded Files\[StockLevel.xls]StockLevel'!$C:$C,0))

Would I be right in thinking that the orange bits could cause the problem?
