so I copy a cell in a worksheet, hit Control + F, paste the copied information into the Find function, and the function returns that there are no matches!

I'm overlooking something really obvious, I'm sure...

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
More information would be useful ...
what are the contents of the cell ( value or formula )? Show it.
What happens precisely when you copy the information into the Find function ... details please ... what actually shows up there?
What options are you using in the Find function ... all of them please?

The content of the cell is a numeral - 7235. I do nothing except select the cell, hit CTRL + C, and then CTRL + F, then CTRL + V, (at which time the Find field populates with the numberal 7235) and then enter.

I am verboten to copy anything from my computer - I'm so sorry!
