not sure which formula to use

Hi I am trying to get cell values brought up automatically when I change to cell refrences that have a validation data list for example a2 has a list of weeks and j2 has a list of players the defaults are week1 and select player so no infomation is gathered however once a player is selected then the information gathered and shown in a pacific cell, with a slight twist to this I would also like to be able to enter info in these cells and be able to save it to the relevant match and to be able to bring back that information as soon as the defaults have been set hope I am making sense

What version of Excel are you using?

You will generally get much more help (and faster) in this forum if you can post your small samples (what you have and what you expect to achieve) directly in the forum.
