Hi,

This is driving me up the wall and it's not doubt a really easy question so thanks in advance.

I'm using the text formula and want to display the number as follows for example:

0.6 would be $0.6m and if it were -0.6 it would be displayed as ($0.6m)

So far I have this: =TEXT(cell reference,"#,#$0.0;(#,##$0.0)")

Previously I managed to get the m to show, but it would feature outside the brackets when a negative which wasn't what I was after. Please could someone help me with the correct formula.

Many thanks,

Jake

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.

=TEXT(cell reference,"$#,##0.0""m"";($#,##0.0)""m""")

Edit : No, that doesn't do it. I'll try again. Here :

=TEXT(cell reference,"$#,##0.0""m"";($#,##0.0""m"")")

=TEXT(cell reference,"$#,##0.0""m"";($#,##0.0)""m""")

That made the -0.6 ($0.6)m so I just adapted it slight and it worked: =TEXT(cell reference,"$#,##0.0""m"";($#,##0.0""m"")")

Thanks very much you've saved me a lot of time faffing around appreciate it.
