Number Stored as Text

Is there a quick way to convert all of the cells with the "NUMBER STORED AS TEXT" error? My sheet is on row 39818 and I would hate to have to go line by line.

*Not all cells have the error
*Using Excel 2010

Hi,

Yes there is, highlight "number" that is closest to A1 from that cell Shift, control dwon and ten left to highlight rest of sheet, use scollbars to go back to and hover cursor over orignal cell, ensuring all cells remains highlighted, convert to number in usual drop down from cell

I tried that and it didn't work... the only thing that seems to work is to choose "Convert to number" option in the pop up.

hrm.. so long as the first cell you select is a "number stored as text" you should be able to select any single range/group of cells and Excel will offer you the tooltip to convert it.

*You can't select multiple groups - i.e drag E3:K25 then drag another one as it won't display the tooltip.
*You have to select a "number stored as text" first. - I.E. if E3 has a number stored as text but K25 doesn't, dragging K25 to E3 would not display teh tooltip, but E3 to K25 would.

Nice! I was just highlighting cell A1 and not the first number with the error as you guys instructed...... Thank you guys very much!!!!
