How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
Good morning vivekshanghvi

There is a macro here that will do what you require giving the result in dollars / cents :

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q213360

If you don't fancy using the macro, you can download my add in from the link below which has a custom written function which, when installed can give the result in USD, GBP, EUR, INR or none. The syntax you would use would be :

=SPELLNUMBER(A1,"USD")

Hi garymu16

Not that I'm aware of. It would be a lot more difficult the other way round because you would try and extract whole words (not single digit numbers) and there are different ways of writing the numbers (Americans tend to use "one hundred fourteen", British would use "one hundred and fourteen") there are also various commas (or not to contend with). In addition to this, the numbers to words question comes up often, but rarely the other way around.

If you find one please feel free to post it.
