Numbers pasted as text help.

When i paste a large document into excel for analysis, all the numbers come in as text and I am unable to perform a VLOOKUP.

I have tried changing the formatting but it still will not work. It will only change to a number and enable vlookup if i click the cell, click in the text box and hit enter. I can't do this for thousands of lines. What workaround can I use, or what formula can I use to convert it to a number? THANKS!
