I am trying to create a formula which will calculate Rupees from USD. However, I cannot find a way to get the formatting correct. The Rupee is typically formatted 10,00,000. While I have seen macros to spell this, I can't find a way to numerically format the result correctly. I realize if I change the Country settings, it will apply to the entire workbook, not just a section of it.

Excel Facts

Highlight Duplicates
Home, Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells, Duplicate records, OK to add pink formatting to any duplicates in selected range.
Try:

""00","00","000"" for 01,23,456 or ""##","00","000"" for 1,23,456

I couldn't get this to work. Excel keeps putting the commas in the thousands position. Any other ideas?

Please give an example of the incorrect result and what you'd like the correct result to look like instead.

In using the custom formatting you previously provided, no matter what I plug in, the number still shows up as 123,456 instead of 1,23,456.

Did you put double quotation marks where required.

e.g.

""##","00","000""

Not

"##","00","000"
