Good afternoon, I have a formaul that gives me the cell address of a vlookup query. How ever sometimes it gives me a default E1. Although that is A) Not the cell, and B) the vlookup exists.

Code:
=CELL("Address",INDEX($E:$E,MATCH(CD3,$E:$E,1)))

Any ideas?

Cheers
Richie

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
What are you looking up and is your list sorted?
You could also use:
="E"&MATCH(CD3,$E:$E,1)
or if you want exact matching use:
="E"&MATCH(CD3,$E:$E,0)

Hi Rory,
I have a data table at the start of that worksheet, and I need to be able to retrieve the row.
I have used your second option and that has worked.
Thank you.
