I suppose I'll assume there is no way to turn them off.
Seems silly to provide a new set of shortcut keys, and not provide a way for longtime users to "wean off" of the old keys. Sounds like a recipe for backwards compatibility issues for at least another 10 years.
If I could turn them off, and on, whenever I pleased then I am sure I could break the old habits, but don't ask me to try and change those habits once I get too old
