Hi,

I have written following formula in the cell but recieved an error.

could you pls help correcting the formula.

I dont want to reference the cell address, I want to use the cell address function and apply the offset.

=OFFSET(CELL("address"),-2,-1)

thanks in advance

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
Ahhhh,,,, I just noticed something, when I type the same formula in the adjacent cell, it changes the value in the most recent cell. I have to manually press F2 and in all cell containing this formula to get the right value.

Any idea why??? :(

Thanks

Try this (the active cell is B3 - relative name in the sheet of the formula):

<b>Excel 2007</b><table cellpadding="2.5px" rules="all" style=";background-color: #FFFFFF;border: 1px solid;border-collapse: collapse; border-color: #A6AAB6"><colgroup><col width="25px" style="background-color: #E0E0F0" /><col /><col /></colgroup><thead><tr style=" background-color: #E0E0F0;text-align: center;color: #161120"><th></th><th>A</th><th>B</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr ><td style="color: #161120;text-align: center;">1</td><td style="text-align: center;;">58</td><td style="text-align: center;;"></td></tr><tr ><td style="color: #161120;text-align: center;">2</td><td style="text-align: center;;"></td><td style="text-align: center;;"></td></tr><tr ><td style="color: #161120;text-align: center;">3</td><td style="text-align: center;;"></td><td style="text-align: center;;">58</td></tr><tr ><td style="color: #161120;text-align: center;">4</td><td style="text-align: center;;"></td><td style="text-align: center;;"></td></tr><tr ><td style="color: #161120;text-align: center;">5</td><td style="text-align: center;;">******</td><td style="text-align: center;;">******</td></tr></tbody></table><p style="width:3.6em;font-weight:bold;margin:0;padding:0.2em 0.6em 0.2em 0.5em;border: 1px solid #A6AAB6;border-top:none;text-align: center;background-color: #E0E0F0;color: #161120">Sheet5</p><br /><br /><table width="85%" cellpadding="2.5px" rules="all" style=";border: 2px solid black;border-collapse:collapse;padding: 0.4em;background-color: #FFFFFF" ><tr><td style="padding:6px" ><b>Worksheet Formulas</b><table cellpadding="2.5px" width="100%" rules="all" style="border: 1px solid;text-align:center;background-color: #FFFFFF;border-collapse: collapse; border-color: #A6AAB6"><thead><tr style=" background-color: #E0E0F0;color: #161120"><th width="10px">Cell</th><th style="text-align:left;padding-left:5px;">Formula</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><th width="10px" style=" background-color: #E0E0F0;color: #161120">B3</th><td style="text-align:left">=OFFSET(<font color="Blue">INDIRECT(<font color="Red">CELL(<font color="Green">"endereço",CellBelow</font>)</font>),-3,-1</font>)</td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></table><br /><table width="85%" cellpadding="2.5px" rules="all" style=";border: 2px solid black;border-collapse:collapse;padding: 0.4em;background-color: #FFFFFF" ><tr><td style="padding:6px" ><b>Workbook Defined Names</b><table cellpadding="2.5px" width="100%" rules="all" style="border: 1px solid;text-align:center;background-color: #FFFFFF;border-collapse: collapse; border-color: #A6AAB6"><thead><tr style=" background-color: #E0E0F0;color: #161120"><th width="10px">Name</th><th style="text-align:left">Refers To</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><th width="10px" style=" background-color: #E0E0F0;color: #161120">CellBelow</th><td style="text-align:left">=Sheet5!B4</td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></table><br />
