Offset with date chart

I am working in charts and I am not sure how to use offset. For example, If column A has my dates by month for 2012 hard coded and column B has the data I want to graph. If I enter 6/01/12 in cell D1. I would like to graph from 1/01/12 through 6/01/12. I have excel 2012.

Hi Tony,

The example at this link shows a general approach of defining dynamic named ranges for your chart data range and label range.

For your specific example, try defining a named range ChtData with Refers to:
=OFFSET(Sheet1!$B$1,0,0,MATCH(LOOKUP(Sheet1!$D$1,Sheet1!$A:$A),Sheet1!$A:$A))

I always stumble with OFFSET, however, your formula makes sense.
