Alright,
I password protected an excel file simply to show someone how to do it via the 'FILE-SAVE AS-TOOLS-GENERAL OPTIONS' and yes, my 1 year old took the the password that we wrote down(on a post-it) and destroyed it. I MEAN DESTROYED IT.

So is there any way I can recover the file?

While the file is not extremly important we would like it back.... and no theres no way we can simply redo the file. Its a Master list of all our contacts for the last 10 years.

HELP?

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Well, you caughtme, my plan is to decode all documents at 1600 Pennsylvania, they keep all records on excel dont they????

At work we use password protection vertually all the time and in showing a buddy how to do it, one momentary lapse in judgement causes havoc.

If I could talk you into sending it to me that would be great. please let me know how to utilize it.

Thanks
BV

Not very wise posting your email address and the fact that you have broadband on a public forum.:)

Do you, or your 1 year old, like spam?:)
