Old Macros

I have Excel 2000 currently at my Job. When we upgrade to 2007 or 2010 will the macros that I have for 2000 work in the newer version? If not what can I do to get them to work?

They should mostly work. If any of them use Application.FileSearch they won't - you can search the board for solutions to that.

99% of them should. Generally, there aren't been compatibility issues in going to newer versions. However, for the first time I can recall, Microsoft did actually remove some functionality that was found in earlier versions that may cause issues.

Just open up the Excel file, go to the VB Editor (Alt-F11).
Then go to Edit | Find and search the Current Project for "Application.FileSearch".

You will need to do this for each file with macros you have.

If you've gotta' ask then it's probably pretty likely that you havent' used it, so I don't know that I'd be too worried about it.

Unless he's in charge of converting macros that he didn't write!
Inheriting other's code can be a real pain in the "you know what"!
